Perfect Corp., the global beauty tech solutions provider, is teaming up with Condé Nast beauty publication Allure for the magazine’s November issue dubbed The Ultimate Guide to Shopping, which will be centered around virtual try-on experiences.

Allure’s November issue will be the first-of-its-kind, featuring interactive content that will give readers an entirely new way to digest information.

To access the augmented reality features, smartphone users can simply scan a QR code found within the November issue, prompting the user to download Perfect’s YouCam Makeup app for free.

The AR experience will enable readers to virtually try on makeup and will showcase products that are used to create Allure’s cover look as well as beauty picks of magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Michelle Lee called “Michelle’s Most Wanted.”

The partnership comes at a time when beauty and makeup stores have temporarily stopped allowing customers to sample products in-store.

“It’s incredible to see the striking visuals inside Allure each month, and now we can give readers the chance to replicate expert-level techniques and trends for themselves with the power of YouCam’s true-to-life virtual try-onReaders can now immerse themselves in Allure’s beauty content like never before, creating a truly unique, personalized reader experience with a tap.

“The way we shop for and engage with beauty has shifted so much because the in-person element has been put on hold. Our goal for this issue was to bring the experience of the beauty store into our readers’ homes,” said Allure‘s editor in chief Michelle Lee.

“Integrating the YouCam Makeup app into our pages really brings the issue to life by enabling our readers to virtually try-on many of the featured looks and, hopefully, brings back some of the fun, interactive part of beauty shopping and sampling,” she added.

The news follows Perfect Corp.’s latest effort to meet the demands of consumers who are increasingly looking for innovative virtual shopping experiences. Earlier this month, Perfect Corp., debuted its newest capability the “YouCam Makeup” app which extends virtual makeup try-on capabilities to Shopify beauty merchants. The capability aims to give consumers the virtual equivalent of a try-before-you-buy experience, enabling them to more confidently make buying decisions and enjoy an overall enhanced experience.

The November issue will be out on newsstands October 20, nationwide.
