The COVID-19 pandemic has brought upon many shifts in the retail industry, with consumer demands leading the change. These new shifts are prompting retailers within the space to create much more tailored and contactless shopping and payment experiences, while also offering instant gratification that their customers crave. To deliver on that shopping experience, beauty retailer Sephora, for one, has partnered with same-day delivery service, Instacart, to provide its customers with all their beauty, skincare and wellness needs within an hour of ordering.

Instacart has become part of the household rhythm for people across North America looking to have the groceries and goods they need delivered same-day from the retailers they know and love. For many people, the essentials they need go beyond fresh food and pantry staples and, over the last few years, we’ve seen an increase in customer demand for personal care, wellness and beauty products,” said Chris Rogers, Vice President of Retail at Instacart. “We’re proud to bring Sephora’s unrivaled product choice – from emerging brands to trusted favorites – their leading rewards program and inspiring shopping experience to the Instacart marketplace. Now, for the first time ever, customers across North America can get their makeup, skincare, wellness products and more delivered from the Sephora store to their door in as fast as an hour.”

According to a company press release, Sephora customers can access select Sephora Beauty Insider promotions while continuing to earn points on purchases made through the Instacart application. Both U.S. and Canadian customers can also participate in the beauty retailer’s savings events even through Instacart.

To support easier browsing and purchasing, Instacart has developed new product functionalities that will unlock a more personalized experience for buyers. One such feature is the one-click shade selector that helps customers more quickly find their right match.

Sephora’s move to partner with Instacart is yet another step the beauty retailer has taken to enable a more engaging and faster-buying experience. Earlier in June, the company partnered up with Instagram to allow its shoppers to shop and pay for products on the social media app via Instagram Checkout. The partnership came at a time when consumer shopping and spending habits were undergoing a drastic change.

This particular partnership aims to continue to provide Sephora customers with additional ways to shop. “We’re always looking for unique, yet practical ways to meet our clients at every touchpoint; and now more than ever, we know they seek ease and convenience. With our Instacart partnership, we can offer a new same-day delivery service option to our existing clients, and also introduce some of the benefits of being a Sephora client to Instacart’s marketplace,” said Carolyn Bojanowski, SVP and GM of eCommerce for Sephora.

Customers can begin shopping from Sephora on Instacart by visiting www.instacart.com/sephora in the U.S. or www.instacart.ca/sephora-canada in Canada; or by downloading the Instacart app on their mobile device.
