In an effort to improve access to healthcare and wellness services, Walgreens has revamped its existing Balanced Rewards loyalty program and has dubbed it myWalgreens.
The revamp comes at a time when customer loyalty and health concerns continue to reign supreme during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The revamped program allows consumers to place orders online or through the mobile application and pick up their purchases in-store, curbside, or via the retailer’s drive-thrus in about 30 minutes.
“As America’s community pharmacy, Walgreens is delivering an unparalleled experience to help customers and patients manage their health and wellbeing during the most severe health crisis of our lifetimes,” said John Standley, Walgreens president.
Consumers can signup for the myWalgreens program for free and start earning 1 percent in Walgreens Cash rewards storewide and 5 percent in Walgreens Cash rewards when purchasing the company’s branded products. Members can also expect to receive personalized deals as an additional perk.
Additional features in the application include a pharmacy chat option, flu alerts as well as the ability to book medical care and vaccination appointments.
The rollout follows several other efforts the company has made to amplify its offerings, including a partnership with DoorDash to offer on-demand delivery to customers in select cities and a $1 billion investment to open up to 700 primary care clinics across the country over the course of five years.
“As always, our more than 25,000 community pharmacists remain at the core of our offering. Our pharmacists and patient care teams do far more than just filling prescriptions – they provide trusted advice, personalized support and a vast range of services,” Standley said.
