Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. has appointed Macy’s veteran Mara Sirhal to lead its health and beauty business.
Sirhal is the new senior VP and general manager of Harmon Health and Beauty Stores and is charged with overseeing the business’s operational aspects, which includes retail, online, and distribution. She will also focus on developing and implementing an improved customer experience that delivers more value and strong growth for the company’s retail business.
“Harmon Health and Beauty Stores operates in exceptionally strong categories, with the opportunity to grow market share in health and wellness, including through omnichannel growth across both digital and physical properties,” said Joe Hartsig, executive VP and chief merchandising officer at Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. and president of Harmon Health and Beauty Stores. “Mara’s exceptional expertise in retail, merchandising and beauty categories will help us accelerate our ambitious plans to grow this business, serve customers across the magic moments in their lives, and further unlock the potential across our enterprise.”
Sirhal brings nearly 20 years of experience working at Macy’s, where she focussed on retail, beauty and wellness, as well as merchandising, Chain Store Age reported. In her last role at Macy’s, she worked as the VP and divisional business, overseeing leasing, licensing, retail diversity strategy and retail as a service. She also has experience managing Macy’s fragrance and bath and body merchandising business in key leadership positions.
