Reese’s is looking to give its customers a peanut butter glow-up with the launch of its own makeup collection.
The candy maker has partnered with makeup company HipDot to roll out a limited-edition collection that will feature eye shadow palettes in “milk chocolate” and “white chocolate” with six shades each. Each kit will also come with two lip balms and two makeup brushes.
“Reese’s Candy has satisfied millions of taste buds for so long, and when the opportunity came along to offer fans a new way to tap their other senses, it was too sweet of a deal to pass up,” said Jeff Sellinger, CEO of HipDot Cosmetics, on the partnership.
The launch of the collection comes at a time when beauty companies and other players in the space are getting creative to engage with customers as they return back to work and reengage in social lives. Grocery delivery company Instacart, for example, recently added makeup to the list of products its customers can order through its delivery platform, CNN reported.
Sales of cosmetic products have plummeted over the course of last year as mask-wearing and work from home routines have lessened consumers’ need for makeup products. Sales of makeup products reportedly declined by 34 percent in 2020 compared to the year before.
Reese’s makeup collection is being made available at Ulta.com, HipDot.com, Hersheyland.com and Hershey’s Chocolate World locations.
