Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. has appointed Denise Paulonis to serve as its new president and chief executive starting October 1.
Paulonis will support and build several key initiatives that were launched under the helm of Chris Brickman, the company’s outgoing president and chief executive officer. Some of these initiatives include the company’s loyalty program and investment in the company’s existing digital and technological capabilities.
Brickman will be stepping down from his role as well as a member of the company’s board on September 30, 2021. However, he will continue to support the transition in a consulting capacity through March 31, 2022.
Paulonis has served as a member of the company’s board of directors since 2018 and is the current chair of the audit committee.
Prior to the appointment, Paulonis served in various executive roles at The Michaels Companies, serving as executive vice president and CFO, senior vice president of finance and treasurer, and vice president of corporate finance, investor relations and treasury. Between 2000 and 2014, Ms. Paulonis held various senior-level positions with PepsiCo, McKinsey & Company and Bank of America. She earned a bachelor of science degree in finance and economics from Miami University and a masters of business administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
