Canada Goose has just debuted its first-ever capsule collection with guest designer Angel Chen.
“Over the years, we have worked with some of the world’s best. This season, we introduce a new type of partnership with Angel Chen, our first ever guest designer,” said Woody Blackford, EVP Product at Canada Goose.
“In our approach, we look for unique and creative perspectives, drawing inspiration from distinct aesthetics that challenge us. Our brief is to reinterpret and reimagine our core design DNA through their eyes. Angel has done just that, putting her signature spin on our most iconic products.”
The collection originally made its debut back in October 2020 during the Shanghai Fashion Week and featured thirteen pieces for women and men. Kim’s show took the audience on a transformational journey from winter in Canada to spring in China through the evolution of Canada Goose’s most iconic parka: the Snow Mantra.
Angel Chen put her twist on the collection by orchestrating distinctive ways to wear two particular pieces in the collection. This included the women’s cropped Snow Mantra Parka for Angel Chen ($1,595 CAD), which can be upside down for a more interesting look and feel. The other piece was the men’s convertible Snow Mantra for Angel Chen ($1,795 CAD), which can be worn in four different ways.
The collection aims to combine signature Canada Goose elements such as fabrics and technologies developed for sustaining harsh cold weather conditions with a modern twist, all while maintaining a completely functional feel and blending the unique style Angel Chen is known for through modern silhouettes and the use of vibrant colors.
“Canada Goose is iconic, the reference for outerwear in the world, and it was so exciting to work with their heritage pieces, reinterpreting them through a new lens for this collection,” said designer Angel Chen.
For the campaign, the luxury parka maker took a digital-first approach and chose to bring the capsule collection to life through both augmented reality (AR) and computer-generated imagery (CGI).
The collection also includes lightweight down, windwear, rainwear, knitwear and accessories categories, features pieces such as the Chaka Vest for women ($795 CAD), the Mordaga Rain Jacket for women ($1,295 CAD) and the HyBridge Knit Jacket for women ($895 CAD). Versatile accessories include a crossbody bag ($595 CAD), which can convert into a backpack and a mini crossbody bag ($350 CAD).
Some of the men’s collection pieces include the Arxan Bomber Jacket ($995 CAD), the Mogan Rain Jacket ($1,495 CAD) and the HyBridge Knit Hoody ($950 CAD).
