Luxury fashion house, Christian Dior, has teamed up with Grammy-nominated artist and designer, Travis Scott for its spring 2022 men’s collection, which was unveiled at the Paris Fashion Week earlier today.

The collection has been co-designed by Scott and Kim Jones, the French luxury house’s creative director.

As a former gallerist, Jones has sought to foster and nurture the relationship between fashion and art through various collaborations.

Since Jones’ appointment as the creative head of Dior’s menswear line in 2018, he has created several co-branded capsule collections, partnering with Nike, Stussy and Kaws. More recently, Jones launched a co-branded capsule collection with Japanese luxury fashion brand Sacai.

Prior to Dior, Jones was the creative brains behind the 2017 collaboration between Louis Vuitton and skatewear brand Supreme, which became a defining moment in fashion as he collided two very different worlds: streetwear culture and high fashion.

As for Scott, he has collaborated with a wide range of brands, including McDonald’s and Fortnite, Nike, Dover Street Market, Byredo and most recently, Bottega Veneta’s for its “Issue 02″ digital magazine campaign.

The last time Dior and Scott teamed up, the artist modeled the Dior x Jordan 1 capsule collection.

Given Scott’s extensive experience collaborating with various brands, Forbes magazine has dubbed him “corporate America’s brand whisperer.” Scott is said to be making $10 million a year from his collaboration with Nike alone.

Scott is also the founder of the Cactus Jack Foundation, which was launched last year. The foundation has partnered with The New School’s Parsons School of Design to establish a fashion program. Additionally, Scott has launched his own scholarship program dedicated to supporting students at historically black colleges and universities.

The American rapper’s collection with Dior was unveiled in Paris on June 25, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. CET, which could be viewed via live stream on Dior.com.
