Net-a-Porter and its affiliate Mr Porter are eyeing the lucrative luxury watch market through a new partnership with pre-owned watch specialist, Watchfinder.

Under the partnership, the two eCommerce platforms will debut a collection featuring 108 timepieces from 15 brands, including Breguet, Patek Philippe and Rolex. The collection will include not only limited edition watches but also rare and discontinued pieces.

The two platforms plan to offer personalized recommendations from in-house specialists to shoppers through its website and one-on-one appointments.

The partnership comes at a time when consumers are gravitating toward brands and retailers that are embracing eco-friendly solutions and processes.

“We are delighted to partner with Watchfinder & Co. on this great project. Having developed our curated fine watch offering over the past few years, this collaboration represents an important next step in offering our customers a wide selection of quality timepieces from the growing pre-owned watch market while advancing our commitment to circularity and sustainability. As a highly trusted resource in pre-owned luxury watches, Watchfinder & Co. is an ideal brand for us to work with in order to provide customers with vintage, limited-edition timepieces, alongside superior service,” said Alison Loehnis, President, Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter.

The offering is expected to better position Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter in the secondhand luxury watch market. Global sales in the market are expected to reach $29 billion to $32 billion by 2025, which will represent more than half the value of the primary market, according to Business of Fashion.

The collections will be made available to shoppers in the U.S. only.
