SSENSE Launches Kidswear Collection

SSENSE is stocking up gender-neutral clothing, accessories and footwear for children as part of its SSENSE Kids initiative.

The eCommerce platform will stock 15 brands starting May 5, including exclusive capsule collections designed by brands such as Doublet, Collina Strada and 1017 ALYX 9SM. In the coming months, however, the platform plans to add clothing from 80 brands, including the likes of Balenciaga, Gucci, Off- White, Rick Owens and Stella McCartney, and Bobo Choses, Mini Rodini and The Animals Observatory.

The clothing option will be for infants in the 0-3 months age bracket as well as children up to the age of 14. The company’s foray into children’s wear curation follows the launch of SSENSE’s men’s wear and women’s wear assortments and the debut of the “Everything Else” assortment which rolled out five months ago, WWD reported.

“Our recent launch of Everything Else reaffirmed that our audience looks to SSENSE to bring meaningful curation to categories outside of fashion, such as home, self-care, technology and activity. There are endless possibilities for us to expand into new categories as the growth of our platform continues to accelerate as we scale globally,” said Krishna Nikhil, chief merchandising officer and chief marketing officer for Ssense.

Nikhil added that the company was “extremely choosey” in the brands it selects as it seeks to distinguish itself from the global surplus of fashion websites.

“The unique thing about the SSENSE platform is that it tries to elevate brands and the creatives we collaborate with,” he added.
