TikTok Launches Workshop For SMBs

Video-sharing app TikTok is planning to launch a 20-event virtual workshop starting August 5 to help small and medium-sized business (SMBs) owners and employees engage new customers and grow their business.

The free workshop, which the company is branding as Small Biz Block Party, comes at a time when small businesses are seeking innovative ways to better navigate the challenges posed by the pandemic.

“Businesses of all sizes are using the magic of the TikTok community to reach new audiences and expand their business — whether it’s a startup or an iconic local business,” said Becca Sawyer, TikTok’s Global Head of SMB. “Our goal is to give every business owner in America the same opportunities as the biggest brands and to help them turn their dreams into a reality.”

The workshop marks the company’s latest effort to boost its advertising sales from SMBs — much like other social media platforms like Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram.

Earlier this week, TikTok partnered with Vimeo to integrate its video-creation tools into the TikTok Ad Manager to help trim production time and costs for SMB marketers.
