Global beauty and fashion tech provider, Perfect Corp., has teamed up with Condé Nast’s beauty publication, Allure, to bring virtual makeup try-on experiences to the magazine’s September 2021 issue.
Through the collaboration, Allure readers can virtually try on makeup looks featured throughout the issue using Perfect Corp’s YouCam app, which uses augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered technologies.
“As consumers return to their makeup routines and discover bright color cosmetics again, we want to inspire and empower all to find their perfect shade, and there is no better way to achieve this than with AR and AI-powered virtual try-on technology,” said Perfect Corp. founder and CEO, Alice Chang.
The partnership marks the second time the two companies have collaborated to drive high engagement and introduce readers to a new era in beauty across its digital and print channels. The first partnership back in November 2020 resulted in 6.5 million virtual try-ons.
Within the issue, readers will find a QR code that they can scan to gain access to an immersive experience in the YouCam Makeup app and virtually try the latest makeup looks for the upcoming season.
“Allure’s September issue is a saturated celebration of color—in an uncertain world, it’s a constant source of joy and energy and of course beauty transformation,” said Allure Executive Beauty Director, Jenny Bailly. “We created a true rainbow of makeup looks rooted in our favorite fall trends and were thrilled to be able to integrate the YouCam Makeup app into our pages so readers can—instantly and from anywhere—try them on and get inspired.”
Readers looking to engage with the new immersive experience can download the YouCam Makeup app for free via QR code inside the September issue of Allure.
