Kim Kardashian made her runway debut in a full-length black gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, built-in gloves, and boots during Balenciaga’s latest Paris Haute Couture Week show.
Other models were seen wearing RoboCop-esque face shields, developed in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz racing engineers, and rubber-looking Neoprene. As models walked down the runway, a throbbing symphonic soundscape played in the background, adding to the show’s intensity.
Some other A-listers to make appearances included Nicole Kidman, Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid, and Naomi Campbell.
Campbell was seen in a voluminous high-shine black ball gown complete with a tall structured collar, while Kidman strutted down the runway in a metallic silver dress.
The move to cast Kardashian in the show seemingly makes sense as the reality star has become Balenciaga’s latest muse. Just recently, the reality star took over the French luxury label’s Instagram and wiped out its entire feed.
The photo featured on the Balenciaga account shows Kardashian taking a selfie in head-to-toe Balenciaga gear, while Kardashian’s own account shows a carousel of photos, including staples created by creative director Demna, such as the Hourglass bag and Cagole boots.
Earlier this year, Balenciaga also struck a partnership with Kardashian’s estranged husband, rapper, and fashion designer, Kanye West, now formally known as Ye, for a project at Gap.
