Remember the Travis Scott x Dior collection that was postponed indefinitely back in December 2021? Well, it’s back on.

The Cactus Jack collection, which was co-designed by Scott and Dior’s creative director Kim Jones, was first announced in early 2021. The collection leans into Dior’s elegance with a flair of Scott’s signature plant – Cactus Jack.

Travis Scott x Dior was originally unveiled in Paris on June 25, 2021, and was set to drop during Dior’s summer 2022 collection. However, it was postponed indefinitely following the Astroworld concert tragedy that resulted in the deaths of 10 people.

“Out of respect for everyone affected by the tragic events at Astroworld, Dior has decided to postpone indefinitely the launch of products from the Cactus Jack collaboration originally intended to be included in its summer 2022 collection,” the company said in a statement, back in December 2021.

During day one of a two-day festival in Houston, 300 people were injured in addition to those that were killed during a crowd surge. The youngest victim, Ezra Blount, was nine years old and died after spending days on a ventilator and being in a medically induced coma.

Scott took to social media to express his remorse following the horrific event. He also met with radio host Charlamagne tha God for an interview where he discussed his experience and claimed that he stopped multiple times during the show to make sure everyone was okay. He also claimed that he was not aware of the situation until the press conference after the show.

“It really hurts. It hurts the community. It hurts the city. It’s a lot of feelings, a lot of grieving,” said Scott.

Since then, Scott has slowly made his way back into the public eye with Nike collaborations and planned festival appearances.

The Travis Scott x Dior collection will debut on July 13, 2022.
