Peloton has agreed to phase out specific designs from its apparel line after reaching a settlement agreement with lululemon on the lawsuits the two companies filed against each other in November 2021.

Just two and half months after lululemon threatened to sue the bike manufacturer over its new apparel line, Peloton had filed its own lawsuit against the athleisure brand in a Manhattan federal court.

In the lawsuit, Peloton argued that lululemon’s claim over the design patents of its five women’s bra and legging products, which include the Strappy Bra, High Neck Bra, Cadent Peak Bra, Cadent Laser Dot Bra, and Cadent Laser Dot Leggings, lacked any merit. Peloton had asked the court to declare that its apparel line did not infringe on lululemon’s patents. However, the case was later dismissed by a judge.

“The parties have negotiated a mutually agreeable settlement and are pleased the matters could be resolved amicably, resulting in dismissal of the pending litigation between them,” said a Peloton spokesperson. “Without admissions of any kind, in an effort to resolve the dispute, Peloton has agreed to phase out certain designs identified in the complaint by Lululemon.”

The news comes just days after the struggling bike maker signed a new deal with Dick’s Sporting Goods, which will allow it to begin selling its exercise equipment in more than 100 store locations by the start of the holiday shopping season.

Recently, Peloton’s executive chairman John Foley and chief legal officer Hisao Kushi both resigned from the company, followed by the fitness brand’s senior vice president of marketing, communications and membership, Dara Treseder.
