Banter by Piercing Pagoda has teamed up with global platform for digital fashion DRESSX to offer customers a new way to shop for jewelry and explore another form of self-expression.

Through the offering, customers can shop virtual and “phygital” jewelry styles, share looks on social media and continue to build their Metacloset. Customers can shop for six jewelry styles offered exclusively on DRESSX.

There will also be three ‘phygital’ styles that take inspiration from real-life Banter products. These three pieces can be purchased as digital products through DRESSX. Those interested in buying real-life versions of the products can do so in-store and online.

The Banter by Piercing Pagoda x DRESSX collaboration can be accessed on the DressX app, DRESSX.com, Banter.com, Banter stores, and Snapchat.

“We are thrilled to partner with DRESSX to create our first-ever virtual and phygital jewelry collection,” said Kecia Caffie, president of Banter by Piercing Pagoda.

"This partnership is one more way we're meeting our customers where they are and promoting self-expression through fashion. Collaborating with DRESSX will help Banter by Piercing Pagoda and our parent, Signet Jewelers, start our journey to be the brand consumers look to for expressing their unapologetic and daring personal style in the virtual and real worlds."

Customers can use augmented reality (AR) technology to try on different pieces from the collection and explore how 3D jewelry and animated styles would look in the real world. Customers can then capture photos and videos sporting their digital looks to share on their social media accounts for free.

For customers who want to purchase select digital fashion accessories can do so for $1.99 via the DRESSX app, which automatically adds the item to their Metacloset to style their look anytime, anywhere.

And for customers interested in a custom-fitted digital look, they can upload a photo of themselves to have a digital jewelry piece of their choice fitted to their image for $40.

The move to launch such an offering follows a growing demand from Gen Z to find solutions that foster creativity and self-expression. According to Crowd DNA research commissioned by Snap Inc., 93% of Snapchatters are interested in using AR for shopping, with Snapchatters 1.6 times more likely than non-Snapchatters to have used AR to try on makeup or clothes. While the research did not explore consumers’ use of AR for shopping for jewelry, it is safe to extrapolate that Gen Z shoppers are likelier to be leaning into offerings such as the one by Piercing Pagoda and DRESSX.

The collaboration also makes Banter by Piercing Pagoda the first brand in Signet Jewelers’ portfolio to enter the Metaverse.

The Banter by Piercing Pagoda x DRESSX collection will be available from September 14, 2022, to November 13, 2022, through the DRESSX app and DRESSX.com.
