PayPal announced the launch of a new rewards program that allows shoppers to easily shop, earn, track, save and redeem rewards through their PayPal app.

The new PayPal Rewards program combines rewards offered to customers across various PayPal products, including cards, the PayPal app, and the Honey browser extension. Users can redeem their rewards without worrying about category restrictions or minimum balance requirements, with 100 points equating to $1.

The redeemed cashback can either be transferred to a linked bank account or deposited into a PayPal savings account. Alternatively, users can donate their cashback reward to a charity or transfer the money to someone else using the company’s P2P payment service.

The new program replaces the Honey Gold rewards program, which enabled Honey browser extension users to redeem their collected points for PayPal shopping credits, cash, and gift cards.

The launch of the program comes at a time when consumers are struggling with higher price points heading into the holiday shopping season, which has made access to rewards and loyalty programs a top priority for a quarter of shoppers.

“With the financial challenges people face these days, brought on by rising prices and the need to tighten budgets, it can be frustrating to shop for everyday essentials or plan for the holidays,” said PayPal’s Vice President of Shopping and Global Pay Later Greg Lisiewski. “PayPal Rewards makes it easy to find sales, discounts, and great deals when making a purchase with PayPal – through cashback, discount codes, or other rewards.”
