Amazon Opens First Apparel Store In LA
Amazon has opened its first physical store location in Los Angeles as more consumers make a return to shopping in physical stores.

For its new Amazon Style stores, the company has looked to take a page out of its Amazon Fresh playbook, focusing on delivering a fast and seamless digital-first shopping experience to customers.

The company is utilizing machine learning technology to personalize recommendations for shoppers and help them find clothes. Shoppers can also use the Amazon Shopping app to simply scan an item’s QR code to check for sizes, colors, overall customer ratings, and additional product details. Then, if they like the product, they can use the app to find a fitting room. Alternatively, they can have the product sent directly to the pickup counter.

Customers can also continue shopping from their fitting room without having to leave as the rooms have been equipped with touchscreens, which shoppers can use to rate items, get new picks in real-time, and request more styles and sizes to be delivered to their fitting room in just minutes.

Amazon noted that the store’s on-site staff, along with the use of advanced technologies and processes used in Amazon fulfillment centers, have been key to creating the experience at Amazon Style stores.

Amazon first announced the planned opening of its Los Angeles store in January this year.
