David’s Bridal Acquires Wedding Dress Startup Anomalie
Wedding dress retailer David’s Bridal has acquired bridal startup Anomalie for an undisclosed amount.

Anomlaie’s platform offers buyers a digital and personalized experience looking for wedding dresses. Its three-step process allows customers to seek inspiration, design their own dress with help from stylists, and see their dress come to life by working with dressmakers.

Under the terms of the deal, Anomalie’s co-founder and chief executive Leslie Voorhees Means will join David’s Bridal to lead the implementation of new strategic initiatives. She will be reporting to Kelly Cook, who serves as the company’s chief marketing and IT officer. With the completion of the deal, Anomalie will no longer operate as a standalone entity and all of the company’s teams, assets, and technologies will be absorbed by David’s Bridal.

“One in three brides purchases their wedding dress at David’s Bridal – and each one of them has access to personalized styling consultations, the largest selection of dresses for the bride and bridal party, and the country’s largest network of alteration artisans,” said Voorhees Means. “I am excited to help the company build tools to bring this personalized experience to other parts of the wedding planning journey.”

Voorhees Means is a Harvard graduate with extensive experience in product development at firms such as Apple, M.Gemi and Nike. She founded the bridal startup in 2017.
