As Target continues to expand its presence in the New York area, it is showing up in the Big Apple in a big way.

The big-box retailer has opened up a 30,000 square-foot Times Square store that sits right between two of New York City’s largest subway stations, a convenient location for both visitors and locals. Upon entry, the store features an 84-foot-high curved digital display in true Times Square fashion.

Customers can find unique design elements that nod to its big-city surroundings, such as colorful mosaic tiles spelling out “Times Square” on the lobby walls and grab-and-go food options.

The Times Square location has been designed to give shoppers a seamless experience through fulfillment options such as online order pickup.

The opening of the new location is part of Target’s effort to build its physical presence while still offering a more custom and local shopping experience.

Looking ahead, the retailer has plans to go even bigger, going beyond its Times Square location and its 70,000-square-foot store in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It plans to open stores as large as 140,000 square feet at yet-to-be-announced locations.
