Instagram Expands Product Tagging To All Users

Instagram is now allowing all U.S. users to add product tags to their posts, enabling easy access to detailed product information and allowing shoppers to make in-app purchases or through the brand’s product detail page.

“Now we’re giving access to everyone to inspire those closest to them by enabling product tagging in posts. From supporting brands you love to helping your friends and family discover new products they may like, sharing products on Instagram just got easier,” said Instagram in a company post.

The platform also revealed that it is working on developing product tags for Instagram Stories.

The new update comes just three months after Instagram began testing subscriptions for U.S. creators. At the time of the announcement, only 10 U.S. creators were granted access to the new feature, including:

Through the subscription feature, creators can choose their own price point, ranging from $0.99 per month to as much as $99.99 per month.
