Grocery technology company Instacart is expanding its partnership with Lowe’s to offer same-day delivery service during the holiday season.
“Lowe’s knows how much this time of year means to our customers. Whether they are rounding out their Halloween decorating or getting started on holiday prep and gifting, we’re able to offer more products, more convenience and more value for customers as we continue to improve the shopping experience in-store and online,” said Mike Shady, Lowe’s senior vice president of online.
“We’re excited to open up this new fulfillment offering across the U.S. for customers to shop for all of their project needs.”
The partnership allows customers to choose from nearly 30,000 items, including small Halloween inflatables, fire pit essentials and even small portable grills, to be delivered in as fast as an hour.
Lowe’s is one of the first retailers on the Instacart App to roll out same-day and scheduled delivery for large items, up to 3x3x5 feet and 60 pounds.
The move to offer same-day delivery comes just as homeowners are gearing up to begin tackling fall projects to get their homes ready for hosting guests. The same-day delivery service builds on the success of a recent pilot program that Instacart ran in select markets in February 2022.
The program also plays off of Instacart’s recently launched solution called “Big & Bulky,” which enables same-day and scheduled delivery for larger items like outdoor furniture, home office supplies, and electronics. The solution was announced back in late August 2022 and enables Instacart customers to order their grocery items and household goods – such as grilling items, beverages, printer ink, or packing tape – directly alongside their large item orders for delivery, all at the same time.
Lowe’s same-day delivery service is now available from more than 1,700 Lowe’s stores nationwide through Instacart.
