Expedia has appointed Julie Whalen as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer.
In her position, Whalen is expected to lead Expedia’s global finance organization and financial activities, including accounting, corporate development, financial reporting and analysis, internal audit, investor relations, real estate, tax, and treasury.
She brings more than two decades of finance experience and has a proven track record of driving financial success across multiple brands and channels in a global retail environment. Most recently, Whalen served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Williams-Sonoma. Whalen has also served as a member of Expedia’s board of directors and audit committee since June 2019 and as chair of its audit committee since June 2020.

Whalen’s appointment will become effective on September 26, 2022. She succeeds Eric Hart, who will remain with the travel company through October 1, 2022.
