Grammy-winning singer and actress Beyoncé recently took to Instagram to tease her plans of venturing into a new role as the founder of a hair-care venture.
Although the details of this new venture remain vague, Beyoncé’s post indicates that she was inspired by her time working in her mother’s salon.
“How many of y’all knew my first job was sweeping hair in my mama’s salon?” she said, reflecting on her humble beginnings.
“Destiny’s Child got our start by performing for clients while they were getting their hair done. I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in [my mom’s] salon. I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls. I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy. I can’t wait for you to experience what I’ve been creating,” Beyoncé continued.
Following Beyoncé’s announcement, fans wasted no time expressing their excitement on Twitter. Among them, aesthetician and beauty influencer Sean Garette shared a tweet brimming with enthusiasm.
The announcement comes weeks after the singer concluded a business partnership with adidas, which lasted nearly six years. During this collaboration, Beyoncé relaunched her athleisure line Ivy Park in 2018.
However, according to adidas’ earnings report in February 2023, sales of Ivy Park faced challenges. The report revealed a decline of over 50% in Ivy Park sales during 2022, failing to meet adidas’ internal projections.
In March 2023, it was announced that adidas would sell the merchandise collections already planned for this year.
In the wake of the separation, the singer took to Instagram to announce her collaboration with Balmain’s Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing. Together, they aim to translate her album “Renaissance” into exquisite couture creations.
