Diptyque has appointed Shiseido veteran Jessie Dawes as its chief marketing officer.

In her new role, Dawes will be tasked with managing marketing, public relations and communications, social media, influencer promotions, visual merchandising and education and training across the Americas.

She “brings a wealth of digital and luxury experience to Diptyque,” said Julien Gommichon, president of Diptyque Americas. “She will be focused on driving brand awareness and loyalty and leading marketing strategy and marketing effectiveness in the Americas. Jessie’s omnichannel and consumer-centric approach will enable us to engage consumers and fuel brand growth across all of our points of distribution, digital and in-store.”

Dawes previously served as the vice president of integrated marketing and consumer engagement for the Shiseido and Clé de Peau Beauté brands. She brings years of experience in building brand strategy and has previously held marketing and eCommerce roles with brands such as Helmut Lang and Theory.

Her appointment comes at a time when Diptyque is expanding its brick-and-mortar presence across the United States, with new stores opening in Brooklyn, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

Diptyque was founded 62 years ago by Christiane Montadre-Gautrot, Yves Coueslant, and Desmond Knox-Leet. The brand’s various boutique-style stores today offer an assortment of bath and body products, candles, fragrances and home decor items.
