Italian luxury brand Moschino’s Creative Director Jeremy Scott will leave his position 10 years after taking the role.

Since Scott took over the creative reigns, the brand has become known for its playful aesthetic, incorporating notes from different cultures into its ready-to-wear collections. Under Scott’s directive, the brand has garnered attention for avant-garde presentations, with models strutting down the runway wearing trash bags as handbags, and for collaborations with global brands such as Barbie, Mcdonald’s and H&M.

“These past 10 years at Moschino have been a wonderful celebration of creativity and imagination,” Scott said. “I am so proud of the legacy I am leaving behind. I would like to thank Massimo Ferretti for the honour of leading this iconic house.”

“I would also like to thank all my fans around the world who celebrated with me, my collections, and my vision, for without you, none of this would be possible.”

Moschino recently made news during the Milan Fashion Week, where it showcased surrealist artist Salvador Dalí-inspired AW23 collection with exaggerated spikes and corseted gowns in distorted proportions that are reflective of Scott’s abstract style.

“I am fortunate to have had the opportunity of working with the creative force that is Jeremy Scott,” said Massino Ferretti, chairman of Aeffe, the parent company of Moschino.

“I would like to thank him for his 10 years of commitment to Franco Moschino’s legacy house and for ushering in a distinct and joyful vision that will forever be a part of Moschino’s history.”
