Burberry Expands Into Resale With Vestiaire Collective Partnership

British luxury label Burberry has struck a partnership with resale platform Vestiaire Collective to enable shoppers to easily trade in pre-loved Burberry pieces.

The service is currently being made available to customers in the U.S. and the U.K., allowing them to trade in their old pieces for a Burberry gift card, which can then be used on Burberry’s website and in physical stores.

All of the pieces sold on the Vestiaire Collective platform will undergo “a rigorous authentication and quality control process will take place.”

“We are very excited to team up with Vestiaire Collective to provide another way for our customers to give new life to their Burberry pieces,” said Giorgio Belloli, chief digital, customer and innovation officer at Burberry.

"In building on our existing circular initiatives, including our aftercare services through our 'ReBurberry' program, we hope that these pieces can continue to be enjoyed for generations to come."

In addition to the launch of the resale program, Burberry has also announced that it will be donating a selection of its women’s heritage trench coats in partnership with Smart Works, an organization that provides women with high-quality interview clothing and provides necessary coaching support to those looking to enter the workforce.
