Net-A-Porter has partnered with The Seam to offer clothing repair services to customers in the U.K.

The program, which allows customers to seek alteration and repair services for clothes, handbags, footwear, and jewelry, aims to reduce waste and encourage sustainable behaviors.

The service is initially being offered for womenswear and will be extended to menswear on Mr Porter and The Outnet by spring 2023.

“We believe that beautiful fashion from past seasons can be a building block of our customers’ future wardrobes,” said Alison Loehnis, interim chief executive at Yoox Net-A-Porter. “Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter and The Outnet are renowned for curating the most exciting luxury fashion and we take pride in offering tips and tools to make these pieces last.”

“Our care and repair service, in partnership with The Seam, is designed to ensure that the pieces our customers buy from us can be cherished for years to come,” she added.

The service can be accessed on netaporter.theseam.uk, and customers can expect to receive their items within seven to 10 days of sending in their products for repair. Express service is also available, subject to availability.

“This partnership will enable The Seam and our network of specialist Makers to deliver sustainable solutions to people at scale,” said Layla Sargent, founder of The Seam. “We’re dedicated to shaping an industry where the experience of fashion isn’t just about consuming, but about participating in a culture of care.”
