Gucci has teamed up with Vermont-based entertainment brand, SUPERPLASTIC, to offer an ultra-limited collection of NFTs. The collaboration marks the luxury fashion house’s first foray into the metaverse.

The “SUPERGUCCI” collection offers a three-part series of NFTs. Each NFT features classic Gucci patterns and its own handcrafted porcelain sculpture with artistic touches from both Gucci’s head of design Alessandro Michele and SUPERPLASTIC’s synthetic artists Janky and Guggimon.

“From floral fantasies to trippy GG Supreme dreamscapes, the characters of SUPERPLASTIC enter new realms as the leading creator of animated celebrities, vinyl and digital collectibles teams up with Gucci to create the new SUPERGUCCI collaboration,” Gucci said on the company website.

Since 2018, SUPERPLASTIC has produced and sold millions of dollars worth of limited-edition designer toys and apparel based on its characters. The company’s talent roster includes Instagram and TikTok sensations Janky & Guggimon, Dayzee & Staxx, Kranky and ShüDog.

SUPERPLASTIC’s drops typically sell out in minutes and go up in value in aftermarket sales. The company has collaborated with brands and celebrities, including the Gorillaz, Rico Nasty, J. Balvin, Steve Aoki, Addfuel, McBess, Seen, FACT, County of Milan, Volkswagen and Oscar Meyer.

In the first release, which is expected to drop February 1, 2022, the famous SuperJanky figure will be seen in ten different whimsical scenarios inspired by Gucci Aria, according to Gucci. The collection will be available via Gucci Vault.
